Website redesign

Website redesign that protects your rankings and wins more enquiries

Our website redesign services are for businesses whose site has fallen behind: dated, slow, hard to use on a phone or simply not producing enquiries. We rebuild it mobile-first, restructure the content around what your customers need to know, and protect the search visibility you have already earned with a full URL map and 301 redirects. You get a site you are happy to send people to, without starting again from zero on Google.

Signs it's time

Signs your website needs a redesign

Revamping an old website for a small business is rarely about fashion. It is about the enquiries a tired site quietly loses. If several of these sound familiar, it is time.

  • It is hard to use on a phone

Small text, cramped buttons and sideways scrolling. Many visitors arrive on mobile and leave quickly.

  • Pages load slowly

Heavy images, outdated plugins and cheap hosting make every page drag, and search engines notice.

  • It no longer describes you

New services, new markets, new clients, and a website still describing the business you were years ago.

  • You cannot update it

Every change means chasing someone, so the site never changes at all.

  • Visitors arrive but do not enquire

Traffic without calls or forms usually points to unclear messaging, weak proof or buried contact options.

    Why sites stop getting enquiries
  • Security or support problems

An unsupported theme, abandoned plugins, missing SSL or a past hack that was never properly cleaned.

Choosing the scope

Redesign or rebuild: how we decide

Not every tired website needs to be torn down. We review what you have and recommend the smallest change that fixes the real problem.

SEO-safe redesign

How we protect your SEO during the move

Sites lose traffic in a redesign for predictable reasons: pages that ranked get deleted, URLs change without redirects, or titles and headings vanish. We plan around those risks before design starts, to help you redesign a website without losing SEO.

In short, we record what your current site ranks for and where its traffic comes from, decide what happens to every important URL, and build and test the new site before switching over. Where appropriate, projects can include a staging environment and post-launch monitoring of indexing and errors. The full step-by-step is in our website redesign checklist. If you also want to grow rankings after the move, our SEO service picks up where the redesign ends.

  • URL inventory and traffic baseline
  • 301 redirect map, tested before go-live
  • Titles, descriptions and ranking content carried over
  • Staging and post-launch monitoring where appropriate

Platform moves

WordPress and platform migrations

Many redesigns are also a chance to leave a platform that holds you back. We migrate an old website to WordPress from Wix, Squarespace, Joomla, static HTML or older custom systems, moving content and images and redirecting every old URL. For existing WordPress sites, our WordPress website redesign service replaces a bloated theme or page builder with a lean build your team can edit. More detail is on our WordPress development page.

If you run an online store, we redesign WooCommerce stores the same way, with product and category URLs mapped so shoppers and search engines land in the right place. Business email is planned around the move, so changing hosting does not interrupt your mail.

Process

How a redesign works

Your current site stays live throughout. Nothing changes for visitors until the new site is tested and approved.

  1. 01Step 1

    Audit

Content audit, traffic and ranking baseline, speed and mobile checks, and a conversion audit of how visitors enquire today.

  2. 02Step 2

    Plan

New page structure and content plan, plus a URL map showing what stays, what merges and where each old address redirects.

  3. 03Step 3

    Design

Key page designs in your brand, shared on a live link for your feedback before the full build.

  4. 04Step 4

    Build and test

The new site built and tested before launch, on a staging copy where appropriate, with redirects, forms, tracking and page speed checked.

  5. 05Step 5

    Launch and check

Switch-over at a quiet time with redirects live and the sitemap submitted, plus post-launch monitoring for errors where appropriate.

FAQ

Website redesign questions

Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It shouldn't, if the move is planned properly. Rankings drop after a redesign when pages that ranked are deleted, URLs change without redirects, or titles and content disappear. We list every URL that matters, keep the ones that work, 301-redirect anything that changes, carry over titles and descriptions, and, where access is available, check indexing in Search Console after launch. A short fluctuation while Google recrawls is normal. Our redesign checklist explains each step.

How do I know my website needs a redesign?

The clearest signs are commercial: visitors arrive but few enquire, the site is awkward on a phone, pages load slowly, or it no longer describes what you sell. Practical signs count too: you cannot update it yourself, the theme or plugins are no longer supported, or you hesitate to send the link to a prospect. If only one or two of these apply, a targeted fix may be enough.

Should I redesign or rebuild my website?

Redesign when the platform is sound and the problems are layout, content and conversion. Rebuild when the foundations are the problem: an unsupported theme, a bloated page builder, a platform you cannot edit, or code nobody wants to touch. We look at your current site before recommending either, and we will say so if a smaller fix is all you need.

How long does a website redesign take?

It depends on the number of pages and URLs to map, how much content is being rewritten, and whether you are changing platform. Every redesign gets a written timeline in the proposal, and the fastest projects are the ones where content decisions are made early. Your current site stays live until the new one is tested and ready.

How much does a website redesign cost?

A redesign is quoted on its scope: the number of pages, how much content changes, any new features or integrations, and whether the site moves platform. Website projects start from $500, which can cover a small, well-defined redesign; larger sites are quoted after we have reviewed what you have. You get the scope, timeline and price in writing first. See how pricing works.

Can you reuse the content from my current website?

Yes. We review what you have, keep what works, and restructure or tighten the rest so each page has a clear purpose.

Our traffic dropped after a previous redesign. Can you help?

Often, yes. The usual causes are missing redirects, deleted pages, changed titles or pages blocked from indexing. We compare the old URLs with the new site, restore redirects and lost content where it matters, and fix indexing issues where Search Console access is available. Recovery then depends on Google recrawling the site, so we cannot promise how quickly rankings return.

Can you move my existing website to WordPress?

Yes. We move your content, rebuild the design, and set up 301 redirects from your old URLs to protect the search traffic you already have. See website redesign for how we handle the switch.
